The 2012 Words of Women Essay Cycle begins August 26
Words of Women is an effort to chronicle the significant events in the lives of women for the next 100 years. In a hundred years, someone can pick up a book and see what women were thinking about, what life was like for women. It is an opportunity for women and girls everywhere to participate in the recording of our story. We just have to look to the past to see that our Words (opinions, ideas, deeds, voices) have not been recorded. To ensure that our own voices be heard and our own story be told, we must be the ones to record and preserve them. We invite you to join with writers from Australia, Turkey, England, small towns and large cities, an oil rig off the coast of Africa, women and girls in the United States and around the world,and tell us your story.
