The Dallas Celebration of International Women’s Day normally falls on the weekend following the actual date of March 8, and in 2012 that date will be March 10, 2012. It has been held each year at The Women's Museum: An Institute for the Future here in Dallas, Texas.

IWD is a celebration of women here and around the world that features here in Dallas the presentation of the Words of Women Essay of the Year, a history of International Women's Day, community leaders speaking on the status of women, cultural exhibits, music and entertainment, fun, food, and conversation. Each year about 30 women participate in a program that show the diversity of our community, informs us of the concerns we have in common, the resources available for us, and the depth, breadth, and beauty of a community of women. A glimpse of the celebration can be seen in the 2011 program guide.
Volunteers are needed to plan, organize, set up, clean up, and makes signs. We need volunteers for registration, refreshments, speakers, entertainers, promotion, web and internet connecting. Do you have special skill? IWDDallas needs you.
